Driving in East Germany

Pleased to shake the dust of Berlin from our shoes. A lovely day driving ... not on motorways... much more restful and interesting, driving through cute little village after cute little village - not much is seen from the motorway at 130kph, except lines of trucks.

Settled on town Hunfeld for the night, no room at the inn at 3 places before we finally had to settle for a Best Western!!  Frank has a theory that while we are still seeing old Trabant cars ( old eastern bloc produced) we are still in the former GDR...   well we saw quite a few... plastic body apparently.

Town square in Hunfeld

Lots of nice old houses in villages

Pretty halftimbered houses in village we drove through

More of the same

My tea - Nurnberger sausages and spuds - v common meal here
