Munich and Cars

 Monday 10th Sep
Travelled to nice little town -Zorneding- 20ks east of Munich. We booked in to sweetest hotel - Alte Postier... old town post office redone most charmingly as boutique hotel, all olde worlde decor.

F in Zorneding B&B

Train to central Munich and thank the lord, we ran into an expat English chap who explained the vagaries of the German train system and pointed us the the right direction for the Neue Pinokoteck when we arrived. Gallery WELL worth the effort with couple of rooms devoted to French impressionists...   4 Van Goghs, one of the vase of sunflowers and Anvers scenes, 2 Klimt.  Frank enthralled needless to say! Collection started with Ludwig 2's 19thC art.

Another Sunflowers!
Walked around Munich for a bit, down the main shopping mall, then braved the train system again an SOMEHOW made it home!

Tuesday 11th Sep
Gruesome hour of driving this morning to get to the BMW museum. Well ... lots of lovely cars - all v shiny... (must clean the car).
Favourite in the BMW museum

We looked at a lot of this in BMw museum - rivetting!
From there to Audi museum Ingoldstadt, I thought this was the better of the two, but the driving, mumma mia!

My favourite in Audi, a test car, one off, found it's way to US in 1956 and spent 40 years in Texas desert before being rescued

Next to Nurnberg for the Albrecht Durer house, traffic so horrendous, we didn't make it in time. Tomorrow's another day
